Description
The Markaudio Pluvia 7 P Mica is a compact full‑range driver designed for builders who want a natural, unforced presentation with excellent dispersion and a clean, modern tonal balance. At the centre of the design is a paper cone reinforced with mica, a combination that increases stiffness without adding weight. The result is a driver that stays composed at higher levels, with improved transient definition and reduced cone‑breakup artefacts.
Markaudio have tuned the 7 P Mica to deliver a smooth, even midband and a lightly extended top end, giving it a more neutral and open character than earlier paper‑cone models. Vocals sit forward without becoming shouty, and the treble has enough sparkle to give acoustic instruments and percussion a sense of air, while still avoiding the sharpness that can creep into metal‑cone designs.
The shallow cone profile and carefully shaped surround help the driver maintain very wide dispersion, making it easy to integrate in small rooms, desktop systems, or compact floorstanders. Behind the cone, a low‑distortion motor, long‑stroke suspension, and progressive spider keep the driver under control at higher excursions, while the vented polymer frame reduces compression and improves airflow around the motor.
With an Fs of 72 Hz, VAS of 4.5 L, and sensitivity of 90.6 dB, the Pluvia 7 P Mica works well in small vented or sealed enclosures and is particularly well suited to full‑range designs where coherence and imaging matter more than sheer output. Its tonal balance also makes it a strong match for solid‑state, Class‑D, and hybrid amplifiers.
For builders looking for a driver that combines natural timbre, broad dispersion, and a refined top end, the Pluvia 7 P Mica offers a compelling blend of musicality and technical performance.
