Description

The Markaudio MA200‑P Mica is a 200 mm wide‑range driver designed for builders who want the scale and authority of a large cone, but without sacrificing the coherence and natural midrange Markaudio drivers are known for. This new P‑Mica version uses a paper cone reinforced with mica, giving it greater stiffness and improved breakup control compared to the earlier MA200‑M Multi. The result is a driver that sounds cleaner, more controlled, and more articulate across the entire band.

The MA200‑P Mica has been engineered to deliver a smooth, even midband, a more refined top end, and a tighter, more accurate low‑frequency response. The mica‑reinforced cone helps maintain composure at higher excursions, while the low‑distortion motor and long‑stroke suspension give the driver the ability to move air with confidence. This makes it a strong choice for larger full‑range enclosures, wide‑baffle designs, or 2‑way systems where the MA200 can be used as a high‑performance mid‑bass.

A carefully shaped surround and shallow cone geometry give the MA200‑P Mica surprisingly wide dispersion for a driver of this size, helping it maintain good imaging and off‑axis balance. The vented polymer basket improves airflow around the motor, reducing compression and keeping distortion low even at higher playback levels.

With an F₀ of 33 Hz, VAS of 80 L, and sensitivity of 90.5 dB, the MA200‑P Mica is well suited to medium and large vented enclosures, transmission lines, and wide‑baffle designs.
